Post 301: DT post for Bob n Betty- 3 Mixed Media Tags (pictorials)

Hi friends !

Hope you had a pleasant weekend. For those of you who know, my dad recently went through a heart surgery, so things at home have been quite hectic and a bit depressing. I'm sorry I haven't had time to craft or blog. He is still in the ICU and we are waiting for the doctors to give the go ahead so he can be shifted to the normal ward. Hopefully, he will be discharged from the hospital in 5-6 days and we are really looking forward to that.

Onto crafting matters now :) Yesterday, my pre-scheduled post went live on the Bob n Betty blog.

I've shared 3 simple mixed media tags using Bob n Betty's beautiful premium textured white chipboard. These tags are an easy way of using up lil snippets of pattern paper & faux leather which we inevitably collect as crafters. And it feels very good to finally use up papers from our 'I just cant throw away these leftovers from my pretty papers so i'll store it for later' box.

There are picture tutorials for all 3 tags. Please click here to visit.

Here is a little sneak peek of the tags:

Thanks a lot
Stay Blessed!

Post 300: CAS Diwali Card (fish)

Hi friends!!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card. This was made for my October DT work for Peek-a-boo designs, all the details are here.

This is an A2 sized, top folding card.

Process:
- Die cut white cardstock using the stitched scalloped rectangle die. Then colored the scalloped frame with Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides

- On the card base, masked off the edges and applied distress oxides through the Dimensional Stencil

- Stamped the beautiful fish from the new Madhubani Stamp on Canson Watercolor paper & colored it in with zig markers, then fussy cut it.

- Stamped the sentiment from the Diwali Greetings Stamp set onto a strip of watercolor paper & then colored in the strip with zigs and an aqua brush.

- To assemble the card, adhered the frame at a tilted angle onto the cardbase, also adhered the sentiment strip within the frame and then foam mounted the fish in the center, to add texture added a few gold strings under the fish to make it pop.

- In the end, adhered a few gold colored sequins for some sparkle

Post 299: Autumn Inspired Thanks Card

Hi friends :)

I've created an Autumn Inspired Thanks Card today. Created the background pattern in this card by embossing with leaf dies. Layering has been done by foam mounting the panel, adding twine & then the die cut words are also adhered on top of each other for the shadow effect.

Process:
1. Embossed the prima leaves dies onto a panel of white cardstock which was already die cut with a rectangle die.

2. Blended warm shades of distress oxides onto the embossed panel. A few small water drops were randomly flicked onto the panel to create oxidization, these were lifted with a tissue paper after a few seconds.

3. Adhered the thanks word die cut in white to a black die cut slightly off center so that a shadow effect was created, then adhered this to the card panel

4. Matted the card panel with a black scalloped rectangle die cut using foam tape

5. Then tied a jute twine around the panel and created a bow. This panel was then adhered to the card base with foam tape.

Post 298: Friendship Card- Hello

Hi folks!

I'd like to share a Friendship Card today :) I've created the background using small stamps from multiple stamp sets.

Process:
1. Small stamps from various stamp sets were inked and stamped onto a die cut card panel using different colored inks that were available.

2. Blended distress oxides onto the card panel for an aged and softer look. Used Cracked Pistachio towards the edges and Fossilized Amber towards the center.

3. The sentiment was heat embossed onto a die cut black tag and a twine was tied to it. This was foam mounted onto the card panel.

4. The card panel was foam mounted onto the black card base and a few black enamel dots were added for embellishment.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Essentials- Lana Cutaways

Post 297: CAS Diwali Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card today.
I've inked the background with picket fence distress ink, masking off at a slant, then on a square die cut of kraft cardstock, used an Itsy Bitsy Stencil to ink the lotus using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide, added a few details to it with colored pencils and a white gel pen. Then stamped on the om and shree (which are religious symbols of good luck and blessings). Then stamped on the Happy Diwali from a Mudra stamp onto some vellum, tore it and adhered it to the card. Embellished the card with a few dew drops.

Post 295: Mixed Media ATCs

Hi friends,

I'd like to share a set of Mixed Media ATCs I created.

ATCs or Artist Trading Cards are little pieces of art which are 2.5 by 3.5 inches in size. These are usually made in sets around a certain theme. Artists and crafters usually exchange them at craft meets or in happy mail.

I thought I would make a few ATCs out of the backgrounds I had created with left over paints. I don't like to throw anything away or be wasteful so I felt nice making these :) I wanted to portray positive and encouraging sentiments. I've added Prima's modelling paste through Mudra's Doodle Cluster stencil and then done random stamping using archival ink with a lot of different stamps I had lying around. To give texture, I've added some thread. The sentiments are stamped from Mudra stamps. Then, added a few details and did doodling with a black sharpie pen. Further, I created some splatter with watered down white gesso. The edges were distressed, torn and darkened with black soot distress ink & these were then matted onto white ATCs which were darkened on the edges as well. I thought the white border helps make them pop.

Here is a photo of the ATCs:
